A donkey born in a First World War trench who saved countless soldiers’ lives on the battlefield is being honoured for his bravery almost 100 years on. Jimmy ‘The Sergeant’ was born in France after a shell wounded his pregnant mother as she went into labour during the Battle of the Somme in 1916. for more click here
