Resting place fit for a World War 1 hero: Ashes buried in remembrance garden after threat of digging up body over tax bill

A World War 1 hero has finally had a fitting tribute to his bravery as the country prepares to pay its respects to the fallen on Armistice Day. The body of Sir Gilbert Mackereth faced being exhumed from his humble grave in Spain due to unpaid taxes – until a campaign was launched to bring him back to Britain. for more click here
