Heil hockey! The moment German team performed Nazi salute as they faced English schoolboys in 1939. How many of these young men ended up facing each other on the battlefield?

Standing to attention on a chilly Home Counties pitch, a team of German hockey players raise their arms to give a Heil Hitler salute ahead of a match against their English rivals. The date was March 1939, the setting was Hitchin in Hertfordshire and within months the two countries would be locked in a war which would claim the lives of 60million people. for more click here
