Births, marriages and deaths in The National Archives 29 September

Although The National Archives does not hold birth, marriage or death certificates, we do hold many documents recording these events that are outside the scope of civil registration in England and Wales. Most are in our overseas, at sea or non-parochial records collections, but there are many smaller collections, some of them in very unexpected places indeed. Who’d have thought there would be such rich pickings in the records of the Ministry of Works, or of the National Debt Office, to name just two? for more click here
