GENEALOGY: Book gives detailed land grant information

TERRE HAUTE — In our search for bounty land grants, we often focus our investigation on the grants awarded by the separate states or the federal government to American soldiers, forgetting that many bounty land grants were given by Great Britain to loyal colonists who fought in British wars. A book by Lloyd deWitt Bockstruck focuses exclusively on these grants. Bounty and Donation Land Grants in British Colonial America alphabetically lists the 6,500 British colonial soldiers, sailors, and heirs who were awarded land in North America. for more click here
