Hugo Ernestus Krebs descendants continue to study their ancestor

In 1974, a grandmother told her 12-year-old grandson that the cotton gin was not invented by Eli Whitney. He never forgot what she told him. She said her grandfather Krebs invented it and that all of this information could be found at the Pascagoula Public Library.

So it was with great elation that Jeff M. Pujol Sr., an engineering technician with the Navy’s Resident Officer in Charge of Construction Office in Belle Chasse, La., contacted us in reference to an item in Liz Ford’s timeline that refers to documents that verify Hugo Krebs invented the gin 20 years before Eli Whitney. for more click here
