Oldest U.S. World War I Veteran Dies in Ohio at 109, AP Says

Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) — J. Russell Coffey, the oldest surviving U.S. veteran of World War I, died in Ohio at 109, the Associated Press reported.

Coffey, a retired teacher, was one of three U.S. veterans still living almost 90 years after the war ended, the news service said. He never saw combat because he was in basic training shortly before the Allied powers and Germany signed a cease-fire agreement in 1918. for more click here
