A splendid new history of the town of Worcester

Worcester has for years lacked a good, comprehensive history of its founding period. William Lincoln’s History of Worcester, the long-term standard, first came out in 1837. Over the years, Charles Nutt, John Nelson, Margaret Erskine, D. H. Hurd, Timothy Meagher and others have added valuable information. Now, with professor Kenneth J. Moynihan’s long-awaited “A History of Worcester, 1674 – 1848” (The History Press, $22.99), this community at last has a really professional and fascinating chronicle of its early years. It is a timely and splendid Christmas present for Worcester folks. for more click here
