Scots in Argentina

During the 19th and early part of the 20th centuries several thousand Scots emigrated to Argentina and Patagonia. They came from all parts of Scotland and from many social and economic backgrounds to work in the cities, especially Buenos Aires, and on the land. Their story is largely unknown to Scottish family historians. Also, until recent years the obstacles of distance and language have often discouraged those interested in trying to trace forebears. Happily, the development of the Internet and e-mail have greatly improved opportunities for research. for more click here
