Digging into Irish ancestry

In “A Genealogist’s Guide to Discovering Your Irish Ancestors,” authors Dwight A. Radford and Kyle J. Betit include some staggering Irish immigration statistics for the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From 1821 to 1900, a total of 3,884,570 Irish men, women and children emigrated from the Emerald Isle to our American shores.
