Hawick ‘ideal’ for tartan register

HAWICK is being promoted as the ideal location for a new Scottish Register of Tartans.
Local SNP prospective council candidate Jim Rowan is behind a bid for the town to be chosen by the Scottish Executive as the home of the nation’s tartans – an archive which would list the 6,000 known patterns, and would also record approximately 250 new ones each year. for more click here
