The Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland

We seek to collect items and material of Presbyterian interest and these may be viewed in our offices in Church House, Belfast. We are always pleased to receive any items of historical interest. In our library, you will see that we have a great number of books, materials and artefacts which relate to Presbyterianism. We possess some original manuscripts of published works. These include diaries, letters, manuscripts of speeches and written sermons. Among newspapers, our main holding is “The Witness”, 1874 to 1941. This is a very valuable source of information and our collection is the most complete in existence. Many of the records have been microfilmed and are available in the Society’s library for consultation and genealogical research. The Society also has a portable exhibition of Presbyterian history which can be borrowed by Presbyteries and congregations. for more click here
