Online genealogy makes immigration data available

Second-class passenger Archibald Alec Leach was among more than 2,000 people who arrived at Ellis Island on July 28, 1920, aboard the S.S. Olympic, one of the largest ocean liners of its day.

The 16-year-old Englishman listed his occupation as “artist” and his U.S. destination as the Globe Theatre in New York. He told immigration authorities that he intended to remain in the United States “indefinitely.”
