Revolutionary War patriot receives military honors

MACON, Ga. – A 21-gun salute sent puffs of white smoke into a clear blue sky Saturday.

In recent years, military funerals have become common for U.S. troops who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But this salute went to a veteran of a different war, America’s first one. Revolutionary War soldier Thomas Napier had been interred without the fanfare befitting a patriot in the city’s oldest cemetery. for more click here
