The Nevada State Library and Archives, announced that its Web site was named by Family Tree Magazine as one of the 101 best Web sites for genealogical research. Family Tree Magazine annually publishes a list of its top picks for Web sites most successful in aiding their readers on the quest for genealogical information.

“As the Internet has become a widely used tool for genealogy research, the State Archives strives to make our Web site a valuable resource for genealogical investigation,” said Guy Rocha, Nevada State Archivist. “It has always been our mission to preserve the state’s historical records and make their informational contents available to our constituency, and the Internet is another way for us to achieve that goal.”

The Nevada State Library and Archives Web site can be accessed at Users are directed to genealogical resources throughout the state and the Web site provides direction on how to obtain birth, death, marriage and divorce records; naturalization records; obituaries; territorial and other state and county records; high school year books; prison inmate case files and more.
