The Nutten family of Aberdeen

Name: Marjory Mackay (nee Nutten) | E-mail: Rod.Mackay@bosinternet.com | IP: 62.7.140.10

This was absolutely fascinating reading. My family, the Nutten family of Aberdeen owned quite a number of, I think, steam trawlers. I am awaiting exact details from the Maritime Museum. I also have found from old documents left my my father, a large page torn from a calendar. The calendar gives no year but it is for the month of September and working out some dates I already have the calendar should date somewhere between 1917 and 1921. The picture shows the vessel plus her crew. The words on the calendar say the vessel was built for the Nutten family by Hall Russell in 1891, converted to minesweeping duties in WW1 and sunk by German U-boats on 11 July 1916. I am wondering if this was a family calender comprising the family’s vessels or a trawl owners calender where our family were shown on one page. Have you any advice as to where I can start my search?
