Fruitlands lecturer explores women’s genealogy

While it is relatively easy to find records and written histories for men living in the 19th century, it is the often-unrecorded stories of “ordinary, yet remarkable” women of that century who fascinate genealogy expert Laura Prescott. In a lecture given Sunday, July 2 at Fruitlands, Prescott talked about her passion for genealogy to a group of new museum members in a talk titled “The Ladies in Your Lineage.” The dearth of women’s records makes finding female relatives a little more challenging, she said, but very worthwhile.for more click here
