Keeping history alive

One of Hasker Nelson Jr.’s earliest memories is of sitting in his mother’s lap as a small child in Mississippi. As an oil lamp burned, she would turn the pages of an album filled with family photographs as she told vivid stories of growing up in a family of 20 children.

That planted the seed for Nelson’s interest decades later in tracing his family tree and in researching and sharing the stories of black Cincinnatians past and present. for more click here
