Salute to our lads at Trafalgar
DO you appreciate a good history mystery? I do.
Take for example the question of what three lads from Huddersfield – probably one of the most landlocked areas in the entire UK – were doing at the most famous naval battle in British history, the Battle of Trafalgar.
My old friend Peter Paxton, of Honley, deserves the credit for doing all the heavy-duty spadework in bringing this topical matter to light. (We celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s dying triumph against the combined French and Spanish fleets on October 21 this year.)
