Discover just how much you can learn about British history and the people that shaped it, using the documents, manuscripts and artefacts they left in our care.

A rare chance to see Henry VIII’s handwritten comments on his divorce settlement to Catherine of Aragon, a unique document as he rarely wrote anything in his own hand. You can also see records of Karl Marx’s role as shareholder in a London Newspaper and the proof that Elton Hercules John started life as Reginald Dwight.

Themed events for children will include dressing up as a medieval scribe, a Tudor King or Queen or an eighteenth century dandy; and handling copies of Medieval seals and parchment are also available to enjoy.
