Palaeography Course at National Archives of Scotland
Each year in conjunction with the Office of Lifelong Learning at Edinburgh University the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) provides a 10 week course in Scottish Handwriting. Archivists from the NAS teach students how to read Scottish handwriting from the period 1500-1700. Copies of original documents from the NAS including testaments, church records and contracts are used for students to transcribe.
