The Surrey and Middlesex sections of the Manorial Documents Register can now be searched on our website.

The Manorial Documents Register is a finding aid that describes all known surviving manorial records and provides details of where they can be consulted. Only the Manorial Documents Register brings all this information together in one place.

Manorial records provide a wealth of information about people, places and communities between the 13th and 20th centuries. They are an important source for many kinds of historical research and appeal to a broad range of researchers. Manorial records are used to study a wide variety of subjects, such as agriculture, landscape, land ownership, buildings, archaeology, crime, industrial development, urban growth and diet, as well as the broader topics of family, local and house history.
