Why the Royal Bank holds archives

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group holds an extensive archive of records relating to the activities of its constituent banks and their owners, staff and customers over three and a half centuries. The archive occupies more than four kilometres of shelf space and is used and augmented on a daily basis. It is a collection of national importance, containing historical records of great variety and distinction.
