The Shetland Museum Photographic Archive

The Shetland Museum holds a large collection of photographs dating from the early 1870’s onwards, covering all areas of the islands and making a comprehensive and priceless record of Shetland life.

This collection was founded in 1966 and has grown steadily from 4,000 images to over 80,000 and is the work of amateur and professional photographers. The Web Site currently has approximately 57,000 of the images on line. More will be added in due course.
