Business Records

The majority of the companies included in this category were concerned with the hosiery or lace making trades, or with engineering. Survival of the records of such firms has not been good, and in all cases these archives are very incomplete

Trade Union Records

The Trade Union records are all local in scope, and include the Nottingham Trades Council records. The most extensive are the Amalgamated Society of Operative Lace Makers and Auxiliary Workers and the Tobacco Workers Union.

Collection comprises minutes, correspondence, directories, rule books and miscellaneous papers; further material, as yet uncatalogued, has been deposited with the department. 1883-1989.

United Commercial Travellers Association, Nottingham Branch
Collection comprises accounts, minutes and registers, 1908-1975.

Workers Educational Association, East Midlands Region, 1937-1957
