As well as giving you a thorough introduction to The National Archives, these tours of the National Archives at Kew offer a rare opportunity to visit one of our secret, bomb-proof repositories, not normally open to the public.

Discover how government and MI5 select files to open to the public and why some remain secret. See the measures take to protect our nation’s documents from bombs, the environment and thieves. See the work that goes into conserving the nation’s valuable manuscripts. Learn how to become a reader to access and handle documents for yourself. Find our how to start family and military history and many other topics.

Tours last approximately two hours and start at 11am and 2pm every Saturday and the second Friday of every month. Children are more than welcome but should be accompanied by an adult. To book call 020 8876 3444
