Cuillin Mountains gifted to Scotland

One of the greatest mountain ranges in scotland has been gifted to the Scottish People by the Macleod Clan Chief.

Three years ago John MacLeod of MacLeod, the Cheif of the Clan Macleod realised that the future of the ancestral home of Dunvegan Castle was in jeopardy unless they could raise £10 million to allow repairs to be undertaken. A plan was hatched to sell the Cuillin mountain range in Skye to raise the much needed cash. However no buyer could be found for the land and consequently it has been decided to transfer ownership of the castle and the mountains two separate charitable trusts.
